GREAT NEWS!
Matt camped out at the Indian FRRO office today, here in Mumbai, and HE GOT THE EXIT VISAS FOR THE TWINS!
Matt called to tell us the good news at 3:30 p.m. Looks like we’re all set to take tonight’s flight from Mumbai back to the United States, leaving in just hours. (Thank god for airline reward miles!) Matt, Ellen, Julianne, Henry and I will fly Mumbai to Newark, then on to Charlotte, NC, and finally to Wilmington, NC.
By 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, we’ll be in Wilmington, NC, where we’ll reunite with Matt’s family, and with our dog, Butter, whom we haven’t seen for 36 days. (He’s been staying with Matt’s family there during our adventures bringing the kids home.)
We’ll stay in Wilmington for a day or two and then drive back home (in a rental) to New York City with our pup and twins. 🙂
After 20 full days in India, words can barely express how excited we are to be COMING HOME!
–Josh
What wonderful news. We are so very happy for all of you. Good job being patient Josh and Ellen, and yeah for Matt’s determination in getting the exit visas in time to catch your flight home. We are so looking forward to bonding with your new family members. Happy great-grandparents in Madison.
Congrats. Very happy that your diligence was rewarded. Wishing you safe travels for a happy homecoming!
As you are coming home, we are leaving for India! Have safe travels and a wonderful much awaited homecoming!
Yay
Great news! Hope the trip goes well and you all have a wonderful homecoming!
What exciting news, so in anticipation I will say ” Welcome Home” and Happy Travels….
Safe travels. Someone once told me that the best memories from a trip to India occur about 2 weeks after you are home. You will be amazed at how much you’ll miss the craziness once you get settled into your new daily routine.
Soooo glad to hear you are finally coming home…we miss Ellen here..haha!! Wish you guys could stay longer here in Wilmington with the twins…but understand that you are anxious to get home with the twins and be a family!! Gods speed in your journey today and hope to see Ellen on American soil once again!!!
Very exciting news! It is also interesting to know that it is still possible to get the baby exit visa through Mumbai, though it takes more time than it should. Have a safe trip and all the happiness you deserve!
YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Found your flight on Radar, Over Russia about to enter Latvia / Estonia.
Well done guys beating the Indian system….
Ladies and Gentlemen, As I type this, I am pleased to announce, Matt and Josh’s flight is just north of Albany and has started its descent according to Radar, they are HOME !!!!!!, listening to Newark Arrivals ATC waiting for the plane to call in.
Bet you cannot wait to see those cute babes!
That would be the case, but I live in Australia.
Guys, quit slacking off! Where’s the Homecoming post?? We demand pictures. Better yet, another video. Blubbering expected, but optional. 🙂
Ditto to Ben…
Haha, we are working on it! Not getting much sleep lately as the babies’ feeding schedule was thrown off with all of the flights. We are getting back to normal today, so I will try to write a post tonight. -Matt
Congratulations guys! You deserve this and more! Best of luck to both of you 🙂
Welcome home!!! Lots of love to you from our family in Austin, Tx. 🙂
Hi guys, Congrats on your bundles of joy! We just had twins and are awaiting FRRO clearance from Delhi. It has been a week already. Any advice? I was thinking of camping out tomorrow like you did as our flights (already rebooked twice) are tomorrow night. Appreciate any tips. Heath & Max
Hi there! Sorry for the delay… I was trying to find the notes I made for contacts at the MHA in Delhi, but I no longer have them. I remember that sending an email to visasupport@nic.in got us an update on the status, but your best bet truly is to sit it out at the FRRO and use some sad puppy eyes. Good luck!
